23rd July
Yesterday we saw Lake Argyle from the air. Today it was a surface tour in two different boats.
One was on the surface of the lake on the upstream side of the dam wall and the other was on the downstream side along the Ord River.
Our tour was with Triple J Tours, http://triplejtours.com.au/ and was excellent value for money. The whole day, including morning and afternoon teas was $200 each (after Seniors' Discount; the upside to getting old).
Here is a Jabiru on its nest on what used to be the peak of a hill and is now an island.
Downstream of the dam wall is a pretty area set aside for picnics and BBQs.
One of Triple J's boats had three (!) 5 litre V8 Yamaha outboards on the back.
Some beautiful scenery as we made our way down river.
We arrived back at our caravan park, at a small jetty about 50 metres from our vans, right on sunset.
